Drawing I did back in 2009 for an contest that tied in with Darwyn Cooke’s first Parker adaptation, The Hunter. Everyone else in this “draw Parker” contest had depicted scenes from the first book, so having just finished Slayground, I choose a scene from the beginning of the book where Parker is running away from a car wreck after an early morning heist. By now everyone’s probably seen Darwyn Cooke’s version of the same scene in his recent adaptation of Slayground which has a spectacular car crash over the course of a couple if pages. If you haven’t read any of Donald Westlake’s Parker books, they’re certainly worth picking up.
